Search everything, jump anywhere with Ctrl+K. ### Direct messages One to one or in groups of up to eight people, with files and several images in one message. ### Other companies Shared channels and direct messages with clients and partners over the open Matrix standard, like Slack Connect. Your administrator decides with whom. ### Calls Video calls in a channel or a direct message, like Slack huddles, in a small window next to the chat. Other companies ## Shared channels like Slack Connect – *over an open standard* Matrix is to chat what email is to mail: servers of different companies talk to each other. XenRooms speaks Matrix, so your team shares channels and direct messages with clients and partners – whether they use XenRooms or another Matrix server. - **Your administrator decides**: By default: companies on Xenaxio and servers on the administrator’s list. All servers, or internal only, at a click. - **Clearly marked**: Shared channels carry the mark “External”, people from other companies “Other company” with their domain. - **Report and block**: Invitations from outside are accepted only by choice; unwanted senders are reported and blocked. - **Where shared messages live**: Messages in channels shared with other companies are also stored on their servers, and their rules apply there. XenRooms has what teams use Slack for – channels, threads, direct messages, files, search, calls and shared channels with other companies. The difference: every company gets a chat server of its own, in Germany or on its own servers, and other companies connect over the open Matrix standard instead of one vendor’s network. **Where are our messages stored?** On your company’s own chat server: in our data centre in Germany (Hetzner) or, on-premise, on your servers. Only messages in channels you share with other companies are also stored on their servers. **Are messages end-to-end encrypted?** No – on purpose, like in Slack and Mattermost: search, the AI assistant and your administrator need to read the chat. Messages travel encrypted (TLS) and stay on your own chat server in Germany or on your premises. **Can we chat with other companies?** Yes, over Matrix, the open standard for chat: shared channels and direct messages with partners on XenRooms or any other Matrix server. By default your team can chat with companies on Xenaxio and with servers your administrator lists; opening up to all servers, or keeping the chat internal only, is the administrator’s choice. **What does the AI do in XenRooms?** It reads along with your permissions and answers “What did I miss?” with a summary of unread channels and threads. From Claude or another AI chat, the Xenaxio MCP connector lets you read and search the chat too. The AI never writes to the chat. The model is Mistral (EU) or your company’s own. **Which devices does XenRooms run on?** In the browser and as an installed app (PWA) on Windows, macOS, Android and iPhone – from the browser, without an app store. Push notifications work on all of them; on iPhone from iOS 16.4 once the app is on the home screen. **Can we run XenRooms on our own servers?** Yes. XenRooms runs on-premise as part of Xenaxio, together with email, calendar, files and – if you like – your own AI model. You can start in our cloud and move later; we move the data for you. **Can we import our Slack history?** Not yet: there is no import from Slack. Webhooks in the Slack format keep working, so tools that post into Slack can post into XenRooms. **Is XenRooms free?** Yes, for up to 10 people: XenRooms Free has the whole chat with 5 GB for files and no time limit on the history, without the AI assistant.
